London Book Fair 2024 Recap: Driving Sustainability and Innovation Forward

Valentin GilbertActualités

We are thrilled to reflect on our incredible journey at The London Book Fair 2024, where we announced our unwavering commitment to sustainability and innovation. This year's fair was a testament to our dedication to driving positive change within the publishing industry and beyond.

Leading the Charge: Sustainability Hub Headline Sponsorship

One of the highlights of our presence at the fair was our role as the headline sponsor of the Sustainability Hub. This sponsorship not only showcased our firm belief in the importance of environmental stewardship but also allowed us to spearhead crucial conversations on sustainability practices within the publishing sector.

Driving Discussions: Chairing Carbon Reduction Sessions

At the Sustainability Hub, we had the honour of chairing a carbon reduction session alongside industry giants; Stora Enso and Holmen Paper. This session provided an opportunity for two of our largest suppliers to share where they are on their reduction journey as well as insights on the new EUDR legislation that is due to impact publishers and suppliers from the end of this year.

Thought Leadership: James Alvis Panel Discussion on 'Books Across Borders'

Our very own James Alvis took part in a thought-provoking panel discussion with BIC’s 'Building a Better Business Session: Books Across Borders’, this was all about the import and export of books to and from the UK and Ireland to key international markets. It was an honour to contribute to such an important conversation.

Strengthening Partnerships: CPI Wiley Networking Event

Our networking event with Wiley provided valuable opportunities to connect with partners, share insights and explore collaborative initiatives aimed at driving positive change within the industry.

Engagement and Collaboration: Over 200 Meetings with Customers

Throughout the fair, we engaged in over 200 meetings with both current and prospective customers. Many of these fruitful discussions took place on our stand, strategically located within the Independent Publishers Guild (IPG) stand. These interactions allowed us to deepen relationships, gather feedback and explore new opportunities for collaboration and growth.

Our experience at The London Book Fair 2024 was nothing short of extraordinary. At CPI, we remain steadfast in our commitment to driving sustainability, fostering innovation and leading by example within the publishing industry and beyond. Together, we can build a brighter, more sustainable future for generations to come.

We look forward to next year’s London Book Fair and if you didn’t manage to speak to one of the team this year please let us know and we will arrange a meeting.
