"Emerald Group achieved
all their procurement
objectives for the year."
Emerald Group set an objective to reduce spending on printed products. They wanted to focus on taking out some of the cost of their mailing products while being committed to maintaining the highest production standards, there could be no compromise on quality. Emerald also wanted to retain the standard journal format as part of the exercise.
Working with the team at Emerald to understand their needs, CPI offered a number of efficiency savings. By reducing the trimmed page size by just 10mm, CPI was able to maximise print efficiency and reduce costs. CPI also proposed reducing the weight of the text paper, from 80gsm to 70gsm, as well as changing the cover board weight from 240gsm to 200gsm.
These measures yielded the required savings without sacrificing on the overall perceived quality of the printed product. Emerald Group achieved all their procurement objectives for the year.
